I’ve been really stuck on my recent obsession of painting Hamsas. And a dozen evil eyes too. Since the mid-term elections, and my hard work painting for the gallery, I like the idea of a happy thought, a wish for good things for others and the idea that a pretty little piece of art can in some way protect the holder from some harm. I love the colors, the glass, the dimensions… Anyway another local gallery has asked to sell them specifically and that makes me feel great. You just can’t give up on dreams, on happiness. Life isn’t perfect, there is someone missing, there is difficulty, there are financial issues, job issues; all the things that were there last year and the year before… but now good things have come to edge out the anxiety. Pure and simple creative joy.
